The Dragon is said to inspire us to chase our dreams...
So dream in Dragon... After all, the Dragon represents Abundance!Click the video arrow to see how Entertaining at home allows us to offer lots of good food, and drink ~ and plenty of fruit desserts.
I use citrus as table accessory ~ as well as an amuse-bouche, and end-of-meal treat.
Lots of flowers for Lunar New Year too: roses, ranunculus, forced spring fruit trees, including almond.
Sweet and pretty.
The Dragon's lucky flowers are Bleeding Heart, Dragon Flower (! Not surprisingly)
The Dragon Flower, or Dracaena, comes from the Greek drakaina, for dragon; in some species, cutting the bark secretes a red medicinal resin, known as dragon’s blood. As a houseplant, dracaena is known for purifying the air and providing good feng shui. Dragons are pretty and easy to grow.
Colors to use in your design are traditional gold, red, orange and the Dragon's
Green ~ because it symbolizes growth, renewal, and rejuvenation. 🐲
The key to a rich, abundant tablescape look is to layer in accessories around the theme, adding to the serving plates and cutlery. Or like here, pretty chopsticks and their artful rests.

For these designs, I also hand-painted the Lanterns 🏮🧧
I like to re-purpose items such as vases, paper products, condiment serving pieces ~ I find a lot of them at flea market sales.
And on the Internet, as well as trusted vendors including Joanne's, William Sonoma, and Pottery Barn, in addition to local shoppes.
Using items in new ways is fun and interesting.
Plus, if you can add in something that is dear to your loved ones ~ it will make your hospitality that much more memorable. I not only use place settings with the names of our guests, but photos, postcards, mementos, awards. Great conversation starters, too.
I hope this is a very auspicious, successful, year for you, brimming with good health and peace. 🕊
The Dragon wouldn't want it any other way. 🐲
